Introduction

The European Union is already in the process of actively determining the overall objectives and requirements for motor fuels. As a part of this constantly evolving effort, the EU has clearly defined the tasks to use the renewable materials as a part of the market of transport fuels.

The Renewable fuels, which were based on biomass, are produced outsideof the refineries. However, there are opportunities to introduce biocomponents in the petroleum industry. The new technologies are able to produce excellent biomaterials - components for the fuels that can be successfully integrated into the technological scheme of the refinery.

Biodiesel is a renewable and biodegraded fuel obtained by processing vegetable oils or animal fats that turn into methyl or ethyl esters of higher fatty acids (depending on the alcohol). It began to find wide application as an alternative fuel for diesel engines. Biodiesel can be used in pure form (B100) or mixed with conventional diesel fuel.
